/01 CONTEXT

Established in May 2009, Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is Singapore's first university of applied learning.

The brief was to live stream their first physical graduation ceremony in a year simultaneously on both their Youtube and Facebook channels. The production required different camera angles to cover the ceremony, as well as a roaming camera for highlights video purpose and a continual synchronisation between the live stream studio and the event script.

/02 CHALLENGES

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, a high level of sanitary measures was put in place, making the entire process more difficult: recurring swab testing for the crew, social distancing and a limitation to 300 individuals forcing SIT to split their ceremony into 11 sessions over 5 days.

/03 OUTCOMES

Eventually, it was a real success for both SIT and Pixel Tie as well as a strong statement about Singapore capability to adapt and to live a new normal amidst the COVID-19 pandemic... to the point of having Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung as guess of honor and being covered by the local News channel as well.
